Spread across the Uhl River, Nargu Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve established in 1974. This reserve is home to many wildlife species including the rare Snow Leopard and Himalayan Boar. This sanctuary has attracted tons of wildlife enthusiasts and still attracts a bunch of them every year.
Nargu Sanctuary is located in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh which is just 185 kms from Chandigarh Airport. Apart from its wildlife, Mandi and Nargu are also famous for its nearby temples and breathtaking ranges. Nargu is still untouched and keeps that aura of wilderness and purity alive.
Day 1: (Arrival at Chandigarh Airport)
Once you arrive at Chandigarh Airport, you will be received by our representative who will then escort you to your respective Volvos and the journey towards this wild retreat will be covered by buses and will take the rest of the night.
Day 2: (Arrival at Barot Village)
Barot Village is situated in the middle of this reserve and offers a splendid view of the Himalayas and River Uhl. This village is blessed with numerous home-stays which offer a perfect introduction to local culture and cuisines. The famous trout fish is one delicacy one must try while in Barot.
Day 3:(Camping in Nargu Sanctuary)
A day well-spent at Barog Village is then complemented by a nice trek towards the wilderness. The camping grounds offer a splendid view with some sights of rare birds residing inside the sanctuary. The Uhl River is home to trout fish which are in abundance and has made its way to the staple diet of locals and fishing trouts are one healthy activity to calm your mind down. The camping is wrapped up with a view to a clear open sky and local cuisines.
Day 4: (Sight-seeing in Barot village)
The last day in this beautiful valley will be wrapped up with some local sights which offer an insight into the city’s culture and history. This little tour will include an old temple revered by locals, Dev Pashakot. After a day filled with various sights, we will wrap this trip with some local delicacies
