Humans have ventured deep into mother nature’s abode with little left to explore the real nature of the mother. This is still offered by RupinBhaba Wildlife Sanctuary which is still untouched by many tourists and takes its guests on a ride filled with raw nature. Established in 1982, this sanctuary provides a spectacular sight of some rare flora and fauna like the Blue Sheep and Himalayan Weasel. There are other sights to quench your wanderlust but this specific landmass offers something much raw and unadulterated. This sanctuary is nestled in the heart of Kinnaur, a district famous for its apples and breathtaking roads.
Day 1:(Arrival at Chandigarh Airport)
Once you arrive at the Chandigarh airport, you will be greeted by our representative which will then take you to your buses. This is a long journey with some amazing places in between like Shimla and the other being the NH-22. Once we reach Wangtu a small village on NH-22, there is a short hike to the Bhaba Valley. This valley is not very well connected and some basic amenities are available at higher costs.
Day 2: (Arrival at Bhaba Valley)
The bus can take us to the nearest powerhouse near Wangtu, from there we will have to take a hike towards Bhaba Valley. Bhaba Valley is not as popular as Shimla or Manali or even Kasol but it sure does provide you with a much more organic lifestyle which is much more important for a sanctuary to prevail. The artificial lake is a beautiful sight and provides a panoramic view of the Himalayas. A day is required to acclimatize to the surroundings. Stay will be provided at one of the local lodges in Kafnu.
Day 3:(Trek to Mulling)
Mulling is nestled between dense pine forest which recreates scenes from the Hogwarts. This dense forest is home to many wild animals and plants some of which are pretty rare to find. This walk towards Mulling is complimented by a deep blue river on one side which is pretty clear under direct sunlight. After dropping our bags at Mulling we will set our camps and rest the night for further exploration into the woods.
Day 4: (Trek to Karah)
After a day in Mulling, we will seep deep into the woods for further exploration. This hike towards Karah is welcomed with some beautiful views of a meadow which resembles the grasslands from Kashmir. This place is perfect for camping and provides a picturesque view of this wildlife reserve.
Day 5:(Trek to Phutsirang)
Coinciding with Karah, Phutsirang also offers a beautiful view of meadows and grasslands. This magnificent place is perfect for camping and for exploring some rare flora. It is very rare to find a delta in midst of mountains and this place is filled with it. With a little bit of exploring around, we will camp near the river and food will be prepared accordingly.
Day 6:(Return to Bhaba Valley)
It is a long walk back to Kafnu and will take the rest of the day. This hike will be very tiring and can be pretty difficult and time consuming. Once we reach Kafnu, we will relax at our designated hotels and will leave for Chandigarh airport next morning.
