The Great Himalayan National Park –the Great Himalayan National Park spread across Spiti Valley, Tirthan Valley, Sainj Valley and Jiva Nal Valley in the Kullu region is a natural wonder. Spread across an area of 754 sq km and ranging from 1,500 to 6,000 m in altitude, it is one of the best National Parks in India.
Trekking and Hiking are the only ways of exploring this National Park and it is a treat to explore it that way. It has even been declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Trips to the National Park can last anything between 2 to 8 days. Entry to this protected area has to be through a permit from the Director's Headquarter at Shamshi or from the range officers stationed at Sairopa, Banjar and Sainj.
The best times to visit the Park are between April to June or September and October. It’s better to avoid the rains and the snowfall in the monsoons and the winter. It really is a spectacular part of nature that really deserves to be witnessed.

The best times to visit Kalatop Khajjiar Wildlife Sanctuary are between March to May and September to November. It should not take you more than a day to explore the sanctuary but taking two days out to really soak in nature’s wonder is absolutely worth it.
